The day the world stopped
Stop the World
I want to get off
he had cried not thinking.
So when the days
ground to a halt
it fell upon him to fix it.
Why did nobody
come to help
Surely they noticed.
And so as he struggled
on that spring day
the earth stood still.

You describe the image perfectly...
ReplyDeleteThank you, Tess.
ReplyDeleteA sad commentary ~ no one to help him.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine what it would mean for the earth to stop moving for one day. If it does I am not sure if it would be better to be on the light side or the dark side? I think I would perfer the light, if it was only one day. I really enjoyed this.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Simone de Beauvoirs, " All men are mortal" , where times has stopped for the poor immortal bugger. A cautionary tale
ReplyDeleteI think we'd all fall off, if it stopped turning, so I vote we continue in our usual spin! LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's the 'not thinking' that gets us into so much trouble!
ReplyDeleteI always forget to tell you how beautiful your art is. Bright and beautiful. I love it.
