Socks provided by Magpie Tales

House Socks
for those chilly mornings
As fall flows into winter
barefoot mornings
gone.

Sunday mornings
with coffee and toast
the New York Times laid out
robe and house socks
snug.

Not slippers
those are for company
one always lost
but house socks hand knitted
prized.

House socks
for those Sunday mornings in
when only comfort counts
as winter howls
outside.
