Mired

Victim of mud
and history
unable to move forward
or reverse
stuck.

Progress
slip sliding away
in the leavings of past snows
squishy oozing
mud.

Swallowing
our hopes for a haven
snatching from our plans
victory over winter
mired in dreams of spring.

  3. We are starting to feel those stirrings...the first inkling of spring. I'm proud to say I visited the The Four Corners one time. Even though I was only sixteen, I remember it well.
