The Mag 289 - Sea and shells

George Tooker, Self-portrait with shell
Magpie Tales

Sea
And shell
Seen
Through eyes
of sea blue.

See
Me
here
with shell
of pearly white.

Why
you
and not
a mermaid
in sea
green.

Why
paint
yourself
and not shells
alone
on sandy beach.

  1. Oh I would love a mermaid though... it would be perfect.

  2. The thought if a mermaid in 'sea green' is intriguing. Mermaids are good!

  3. Nice one. I liked this quite a bit. Had a nice staccato rhythm to it. :-)

  4. I guess sometimes we need to recognise ourselves...
