Come the Winds

Magipie 175 Image by Musin Yohan

Came the Winds
And soon the dark
Too early
or was she just too late.

Gone the others
While she lay
 exhausted
in her row unfinished.

Come the rains
Before she would be home
too late
to tally her pickings.

Taken by the storm
With too far to go
afoot
Alone without shelter.

  4. The sense of nature's threatening force hangs heavy here. I hope she makes it home in time.
