So it is time to dig up those poems or finely polish the last lines. And leave a comment here or on Twitter or Y!360 so I can link you in. Thanks to all the participants.

To avoid having to update two blogs with links I will host it here but you can leave comments, or your url here, or there or on Twitter.

  2. I'm so glad you included Ron's poem. I didn't think you would mind my inviting him. Ron is an English professor at Utah State Univ. and my long-time and favorite Scrabble foe online.

  3. No,bekkieann, I absolutely do not mind. The more the merrier and he is a definite asset to any poetry tour. Course now I am really going to have to watch my typing and spelling.

  4. That's what I told him when I first met him. But then I found out he doesn't care about grammar and spelling rules, he thinks most of them make no sense at all and should be thrown out.

I do love this poetry Wednesday. It's such a nice thing to look forward to in the middle of the week.

  5. re clean sheets:

Aahh memories!. I remember as a child, my grandmother in Austria washing linen. It was a major task because she had duvets 'before' duvets came to the rest of the world!!! She had what seemed to me then (and I am sure it was) an enormous iron (?) 'cauldron'. This was filled with water ( I cannot remember how) and brought to the boil by a flame underneath. The linen would be put in (always white) and boiled and Omi would stir it with what seemed to be a paddle! this seemed to take hours and hours. Wash day was, literally a whole day. it then went through a wringer and was put on the line - with me running through the linen. i can still smell it,

Re folding: I always find it tremendously funny that two women can fold a sheet without talking to each other about how it is done. Ever tried folding a sheet with a man?????

    Lovely poem.
